1 to 1 - Detailing course covering safe washing, machine polishing your vehicle and applying a 2 Year Ceramic Coating. What the day includes... Pre-wash: The essential contactless wash phase. A detailer's opportunity to remove compacted dirt and grit without making physical contact with the paint. Contact wash: Learn the two (and three) wash bucket methods, why it is important, and why it will help to protect vehicles from surface damage. Deep clean wheels: There is great satisfaction knowing that every part of the car has received the attention it deserves. We will cover how to clean every part of wheels, including the barrels and different types of chemicals. Decontamination: Iron fallout is an unseen menace to car paintwork and alloy wheels! The correct iron remover product is the next step after washing. You will learn how to thoroughly remove iron contamination and brake dust leaving both wheel and paint surfaces ready for the final stages of your detail. You will also learn how to identify and safely remove tar, as well as clay baring the vehicle. Break for Lunch and a Coffee! We kindly ask that you bring your own lunch but we will have snacks and hot & cold drinks for you! Paint Correction - Now into the serious stuff! We will talk you through the various types of machine polishers, pads and compounds. (We have a scrap panel you can practice on if needed) before moving onto your vehicle. We will be using a Dual Action machine polisher to remove swirl marks, marring and defects from the vehicle. Once the whole vehicle is corrected and you are happy we will dust down the vehicle and move onto coatings. NOTE (As we only have 1 day some vehicles we may leave an area like the roof for you to complete yourself at home and save time the day) Ceramic Coatings - Time to protect all that hard work and glorious looking paint! You will learn how to apply a ceramic coating in the correct methods. You will also see the dangers of using a coating in the wrong way and how to deal with that. Every area which has been polished will be ceramic coated! Glass and finishing touches: A job isn’t complete until the glass surfaces are crystal clean and the detail dressings have been applied. We will also apply a glass sealant! This course is suited to enthusiasts who want to possibly move into detailing for work, or even people who need their car working on but would love how to do it in the future and to safely maintain it!
